The Westfalia Mozambique avocado season is approaching, with volumes expected to move from week 5 through to approximately week 18 or 19. This period represents one of the most important operational seasons of the year for Plus0, as increased volumes of fruit move through the supply chain for export to Europe.
The overall volume of the season will depend largely on fruit size and maturity. However, cooler and wetter conditions experienced since October and November are expected to support a higher export percentage compared to previous years.

Current planning indicates that the Mozambique avocado season is likely to begin around week 5 or week 6, starting with early greenskin volumes. From week 8 or week 9, assuming no climatic or maturity delays, larger volumes are expected to ramp up significantly. These peak volumes are anticipated to continue through to around week 18 or week 19.
This gradual build-up requires precise coordination across farms, pack plants, transport routes, and container operations to ensure fruit quality is maintained while meeting strict shipping schedules.
Plus0’s Role in the Export Supply Chain
Plus0 plays a key role in managing the movement of fruit throughout the Mozambique avocado season. This includes transporting avocados from the farm to the pack plant in Tzaneen, as well as from farm directly to Plus0 premises, where containers are stuffed and prepared for oceanfreight to Europe.

During the 2024 season, Plus0 stuffed 123 containers for the Westfalia Mozambique avocado programme bound for Europe. In the 2025 season, this increased to 130 containers.
In total, Plus0 stuffed 447 containers across all clients in 2025, with the Westfalia Mozambique avocado programme accounting for 29 percent of overall volumes. This demonstrates the strategic role this season plays within Plus0’s business model and operational planning.
